Saroj Beauty Parlour

Saroj Beauty Parlour is situated on Sitapur Road in the Khadra area of Lucknow. We are very close to the Pakka Pul, which is a major landmark around here. The 226020 area is always a bit congested, especially with the bridge traffic. Our shop is a modest space on the ground floor. It’s not very big, just a room with two chairs and a small table for the supplies. We have been here for a long time, so the walls have been painted a few different colors over the years. Right now they are a light pink. We get a lot of women from the Khadra neighborhood who just walk over from their homes. It is a local place where everyone knows each other’s business. We do threading, waxing, and the basic hair cuts that people ask for. The smell of the river sometimes comes in when the wind blows from the direction of Pakka Pul. We have a small television in the corner but we mostly just leave it on the news or some serial. It’s a busy road outside with trucks and rickshaws going towards Sitapur, but inside we try to keep things calm. We aren't a big chain or anything, just a small parlour run by a couple of us who live nearby. We open six days a week and take a break on Tuesdays usually. The storefront is simple and we keep a few potted plants near the door.
