We are located on Cantt Road in Lucknow, at number 36. It’s a well-known part of the city, and we’ve been here at RRDA Chikan Emporium for a good while. Lucknow is famous for Chikan work, as everyone knows, and our shop is right in the middle of that tradition. It’s not a polished corporate showroom; it’s more of a traditional shop where you can see the work up close. The building is older, and it has that classic Lucknow feel to it. We spend our days sorting through different pieces, checking the embroidery, and talking to the artisans who do the actual sewing. There’s always a lot of activity on Cantt Road, so there is plenty of noise from the traffic outside. Inside the emporium, we keep things simple. We have shelves filled with white and colored fabrics, all with that specific hand-stitched look. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, where we know our regular customers by name. We don’t bother with fancy displays or high-end lighting. We just put the clothes out and let people see the handiwork. Most of the staff has been with us for a long time, so they know exactly how to spot a good piece of work. It’s a practical business, focused on the craft rather than the branding. We just like keeping the old ways of doing things alive in our own way without any extra fluff.
