Poorvanchal Media

You can find Poorvanchal Media at Khasra Number 152, right by the Geetapuri Chauraha. We are located on Khargapur Road, which is a busy part of the Khargapur area. Our office is pretty basic, just a few desks and some chairs where we sit and talk about what's going on in the region. The Chauraha is always busy with traffic and people selling things on the corners, so there is never a dull moment looking out the window. We spend our days mostly on the phone or talking to people who walk in with news or stories. It isn't a high-tech media house with cameras everywhere; it is more like a community hub where information gets passed around. The road outside can be a bit of a mess during the monsoon, and sometimes it's hard for people to park their bikes near the office. We've got stacks of old newspapers in the corner and a coffee machine that works about half the time. It is a lot of long hours and sometimes we stay late into the night when something big is happening. We aren't trying to be famous or anything like that. We just want to make sure the people in Khargapur know what is happening in their own backyard. It’s a small operation, but it keeps us busy and connected to the folks living around Geetapuri Chauraha.
