Pharmaceutics

We are based here in Lucknow, dealing with different types of medicine and supplies. The city is big and we end up moving around quite a bit to get things where they need to go. Pharmaceutics isn’t a retail shop where you just walk in to buy a strip of aspirin. It’s more of a distribution setup where we handle boxes and crates coming in and out. The weather here in Lucknow can be really tough on storage because of the heat, so we have to be careful about where everything sits. Our day starts pretty early before the traffic gets too bad on the main roads. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking lists to make sure the inventory matches up. It’s a lot of logistics and making sure the labels are correct. The space we use is mostly filled with tall shelves and there’s always a smell of cardboard and maybe a bit of that medicinal scent you find in hospitals. We don’t have a big sign out front because we aren't looking for walk-in traffic from the street. It’s a steady kind of work, very routine but it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of some protest or a festival blocking the streets, which happens a lot around here. We just deal with it and get the work done when the roads clear up. It’s not glamorous, but it’s our daily life here in the city.
