O.K. Beauty Salon

We are over on Jail Road in the Bangla Bazar area of Lucknow, right near Vardhman Pathology. If you have been to this part of Saleh Nagar, you probably passed by us. The shop has a sign that says O.K. Beauty Salon, which is simple enough for anyone to find. Inside, the space is just enough for a few people to get their hair done at the same time. We have those old-style salon chairs and some big mirrors that cover most of one wall. It is a place where you can come and hear what is going on in the city. Since the pathology lab is nearby, we get people stopping in while they are out running errands. The lighting is okay, nothing too bright, just enough to see what we are doing with the scissors. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who have been doing this for years. Sometimes we run out of water and have to wait for the tank to fill up, but that is just part of living here. We do mostly haircuts and beard trims, the usual stuff people need. It is a plain shop without any fancy branding or expensive furniture. We like it that way because it feels more like home for the people who live around Bangla Bazar.
