Noor Alam Hair Cutting Saloon

Noor Alam Hair Cutting Saloon is right in Saba Market. It is usually busy with people buying vegetables and things nearby. We have been here in the Indira Nagar area for quite a few years now. The shop itself isn't very large, but we have enough space for three chairs and some plastic stools for waiting. You can find us pretty easily if you are near the Munshi Pulia side. Most days start around nine when we pull up the shutters and get things ready. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we are always sweeping throughout the day. Our mirrors are a bit old, and the corners are starting to fade, but they show you what you need to see. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just wait it out or use the hand fans to stay cool. A lot of students from the nearby houses come by in the afternoons. They usually want a look they saw on a movie poster or something. We try our best with those styles. Older men just want the same cut they have had for twenty years. It is nice to hear the stories about what is going on around Lucknow while we work. We keep a few old newspapers on the bench for people. The tea stall next door is where we get our morning chai. It is just a normal place where you can get your hair sorted out.
