Nirmals Beauty Salon & Boutique

Nirmals Beauty Salon & Boutique is situated at G-125 on Raebrily Road, in the South City area of Lucknow. We are quite close to the Millennium School, so many parents know us. My shop is a bit different because it’s both a salon and a boutique. On one side, I have my sewing machines and fabrics where I stitch ladies' suits and blouses. The other side is for the beauty treatments. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze with all the cloth and the salon chairs in one place. I started out just doing tailoring, but then I added the beauty services because my customers kept asking for them. Now, it’s a mix of both. You’ll often see half-finished dresses hanging near the hair-cutting station. I work with a couple of tailors who handle the heavy stitching while I do the beauty work and the final fittings. The shop gets very busy during the festival season and when there are weddings nearby. The South City neighborhood is growing, so we see a lot of new faces lately. The shop isn't fancy; the chairs are old and the counter is a bit cluttered with threads and scissors. But it’s a place where women can get their clothes made and their hair done at the same time. We keep the tea kettle going for most of the day for ourselves and the guests. It is a long day from nine till eight, but it keeps us busy and moving.
