Narivikas Charity Foundation

Our foundation is based in Behsa, right near the Shiva Public School. If you know the Sarojini Nagar area in Lucknow, you’ve probably driven past us on Shaheed Path. Narivikas Charity Foundation is a modest place. We don't have a lot of equipment or a big staff. It’s just a few of us working in a couple of rooms. We started this because we wanted to focus on the women in our community and give them a bit of extra support. It might be teaching someone how to sew or helping them figure out a small business idea. The school nearby means there are always kids around, which keeps the place feeling lively. We don't have a corporate office feel at all. It’s more like a community center where anyone can walk in. We don't use fancy terms or promotional slogans. We just talk to folks like they are our neighbors, because they are. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, and other days we are running around trying to get things organized. We don't have a big budget for ads, so we just rely on people knowing us. It’s an honest, simple way to run a foundation. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We are just local people in Sarojini Nagar trying to make things a little easier for the women who live around here.
