Mh. Rashid Gents Parlour

My name is Rashid and this is my parlour on Campbell Road in the New Haider Ganj area of Lucknow. It is a small business that I have been running for quite some time now. People around Campbell Lines know the shop. It is a place where men come to get their hair done or get a clean shave before going to work. The shop is simple. I have a few chairs and the mirrors are lined up along the wall. I don't have any big advertisements or anything like that. Word of mouth is how most people find me. The street outside can get very noisy with all the traffic, but inside it’s just the usual shop talk. I keep my tools sharp and my towels as clean as I can. Sometimes my younger brother helps me out when there’s a rush. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a good ceiling fan that does the job. I’ve seen many kids grow up coming to this shop, starting from their first haircut to when they are grown men. It’s a nice feeling to be a part of the neighborhood like that. The shop opens early and I stay until the last customer is done. It is hard work but it is what I know how to do. If you are on Campbell Road, you can easily spot us by the blue door.
