Messy Flickers

Messy Flickers is what we call our group, and you’ll find us inside the Fusion Dance Studio. We’re located at 6 B Way Road, which is near the Allahabad Bank. Actually, we’re right opposite the bank on Gokhale Marg, so it’s pretty central. The studio is a bit of a loud place, which is expected since there’s always music playing. We’ve got mirrors on the walls and a floor that’s seen a lot of footsteps over the years. It’s not just about professional dancing; it’s more about people coming together to move around and have a bit of fun. We call it Messy Flickers because things don't always have to be perfect when you’re learning. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles when the class is full, but we just open the windows and keep going. We’ve got students of all ages, from little kids who can't stand still to older folks who just want to stay active. There’s no big corporate vibe here at all. We mostly wear sweats and t-shirts and spend our time counting out beats. Gokhale Marg is a busy street, but once you’re inside the studio, you kind of forget about the traffic outside. It’s just a space for creativity and maybe getting a little sweaty. We aren't trying to win any huge awards; we just like seeing people enjoy the music and the movement.
