Srivastava Films And Studio is down on the Lower Ground Floor -10 of the Awadh Shopping Centre in Munshipuliya. Being in the basement means we don't get much natural light, but that’s actually better for the kind of film work we do. We’ve got our cameras, some old props, and a few editing stations squeezed into the space. It’s a bit cramped, especially when we have a few people over for a shoot. We’ve been in this shopping center for some time, and we know most of the other shop owners around here. Our days are a mix of filming and then spending hours in the dark, cutting clips together. It’s a slow process and it can be tiring on the eyes. We started this studio because we liked the idea of making movies and capturing events. It’s a family-run place, so you’ll often see the same few faces every time you come by. We don't have a big fancy reception area. You just walk in and we’re usually busy with something. Sometimes the equipment acts up or we run out of storage space on the hard drives, which is always a headache. We just take things as they come and try to finish our work on time. It’s a bit of a messy, busy life here in Munshipuliya.
