Menders Beauty Parlour

We are located on Meera Bai Marg in Hazratganj, right near the Sales Tax Office. Most days it’s pretty busy outside with people heading to work or running errands in this part of Lucknow. The parlour isn't very big, but we have enough room for a few chairs and the things we need. It started out quite small years ago and we just kept going. Some people come in while they wait for their paperwork at the government office nearby. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background. My cousin helps out when it gets crowded on weekends. Sometimes the water pressure is a bit low, but we manage. We do basic stuff like hair cutting and threading. The mirrors have a few spots on them that won't go away no matter how much we wipe. It feels like a second home to us because we spend more time here than at our actual houses. People from the neighborhood stop by just to say hello even if they don't need a haircut. It's just a normal place where you can sit down and talk for a bit. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that. Just the usual bulbs. Sometimes we run out of tea and have to send the boy to the shop around the corner. That’s how it goes here every day. It’s simple and we like it that way.
