Mencap India Foundation

You can find Mencap India Foundation over in Subhash Nagar, specifically at House No 30 in the Kalyanpur area of Lucknow. It is a busy neighborhood, and we are right in the middle of it. We have been here for a while, just doing our thing. The office is not anything special to look at from the outside, but it is where all our work happens. We have a small desk, some chairs, and plenty of paperwork to get through every day. Most of us are from around here, so we know the local streets and the people quite well. We started this because we wanted to help out in our own backyard. It is not a big international operation. It is just us. Sometimes the traffic outside gets a bit much, but once you step inside, it is mostly quiet. We do not use big words or try to sound like we are something we are not. We are just a group of people working together. Some days are harder than others, especially when the summer heat hits, but we stay at it. People stop by to chat or ask for help, and we do our best to listen to them. It is a practical way to live and work. We do not need much else. Lucknow is a big city, but our little corner in Kalyanpur feels like home. We are just glad to be here doing this work every day.
