Mann Welfare Foundation

If you know where the old Purani Chungi petrol pump is, then you’re pretty close to us. Mann Welfare Foundation is based out of H. No. 84 on Lane No. 1 in Bajrang Nagar. It’s a busy little area and we like being right in the thick of it. The office is basically a front room that we converted so we’d have a place to meet. It’s not anything special to look at, just some chairs and a table where we keep our logs. We hear the motorbikes and cars going by all day, but you get used to the noise after a while. We started this because we saw things in the neighborhood that could be better and figured we might as well try to help. We’re not experts or anything, just locals who give a damn. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to do, and other days we’re out in the street talking to the shopkeepers. We don't use big words or pretend to be more important than we are. It’s just honest effort every day. The rain sometimes leaks a little near the window, but we just put a bucket down and keep working. That’s how we do things here—we just deal with it and keep going. We don't have a receptionist or fancy tea, just us and whatever work is on the desk today. It's a bit messy but it's ours and it works for us.
