Mahila Beauty Parlour

We are over here at Haq Plaza on the Picnic Spot Road in Khurram Nagar. It is a busy part of Lucknow and the police chauki is right nearby which makes it easy to find us. We have been in this spot for a while now. Most days I am here opening up the shutters early because the street gets crowded fast. The parlour is just a regular place where local women come to get their hair done or maybe some threading. It isn't anything like those big fancy salons in the malls. We have our chairs and mirrors and the usual tools. Some days it gets really hot outside but inside we try to keep things moving. Customers usually live around here in Khurram Nagar or they are passing through on the way to the picnic spot. I usually handle the main work and sometimes there is another girl helping me if it gets too busy on the weekends. We don't really do anything complicated. It's just simple beauty work like facials or cutting hair for the kids and women who live in the colony. I spend a lot of time cleaning the combs and making sure the floor is swept after every client. It’s hard work being on your feet all day but that is how it goes.
