Konika Beauty Parlour

Konika Beauty Parlour is tucked away near Rakabganj Chauraha. We are right by the Arya Samaj Mandir in Lucknow. It’s a small space, but keeping it tidy is important to me. I started this place because I wanted something for myself. Most of the ladies from the neighborhood come here for their threading or a simple facial. It isn't a big fancy salon with air conditioning in every corner, but the fan keeps things cool enough. We use the same brands you find in any local shop. I remember when we first opened, the sign was hand-painted. Now it’s a bit faded from the sun. The chairs are comfortable enough for a long session. Sometimes kids come in with their mothers and run around, which can be a bit much, but it doesn't bother us. We try to keep things moving so nobody has to wait too long out on the street. Rakab Ganj is a busy area, so there’s always noise from the traffic outside. I usually have some tea ready if a regular customer drops by for a chat. It’s just me and one other girl working most days. Doing anything too modern isn't our style, just the usual stuff that people need for weddings or parties. It’s a simple life running a shop like this in Lucknow. We are here every day except for some holidays. The mirror has a few spots on it that won't come off, but nobody seems to mind.
