Kiyara Beauty Parlour

You can find us in Mahanagar at the Golmarket Choraha. It is one of the busiest spots in Lucknow, so there is never a quiet moment outside. The traffic at the choraha is always moving and you can hear the traffic police whistles all day. Our parlor, Kiyara, is right in the middle of all that action. It’s a small space with white tiles and some shelves for our creams and bottles. The floor is a bit worn out from all the walking but we keep it swept. We get a lot of people who are just passing through the market and decide to stop in. It’s a convenient spot for a quick hair wash or a facial when people are out shopping. The air inside is a mix of hairspray and floor cleaner. We have a couple of chairs and a big mirror that’s seen better days. The lighting is okay, nothing special. We don't really do anything complicated here, just the standard beauty stuff that most women need. Sometimes it gets crowded and people have to stand near the door. We don't mind the rush, it makes the day go by faster. Mahanagar is a good place to be, even with all the noise from the market. We open up the shutters early and close up once the market starts to quiet down at night. It’s just a regular shop for regular people.
