We have been running Kanchan Kaya Beauty Parlour And K. K. Tailors for quite some time now over at Ashiyana Chauraha. It is a bit of a double business since we handle both beauty treatments and stitching work right here in Sector-I of Ashiyana. Lucknow is a big place but this specific corner near Beiman Laddu is where we spend all our days. The shop isn't anything fancy or corporate, just a local spot where people from around the neighborhood drop by. We mostly stay busy with the locals who need a quick haircut or have some fabric they want turned into a suit. The sewing machines are usually going in the back while the parlor chairs are occupied in the front. It gets pretty noisy outside with all the traffic at the chauraha, but we are used to it by now. Being near the laddu shop helps because people recognize the landmark easily. We don't really do much advertising or have a big team, it's just us doing the work we know. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather in Lucknow gets too hot. We just sit and chat with the customers then. It’s a practical setup having both services in one room.
