Jain Chikan And Cap Store

Our little shop is tucked away at No. 319/38 in Churi Wali Gali Chowk. If you know the area, you know it can get pretty crowded, especially in the afternoons. We call ourselves Jain Chikan And Cap Store. It’s a small space, so we have to stack the boxes pretty high to fit everything in. We sell traditional chikan work and a variety of caps. The embroidery takes a lot of time to look through, so people usually spend a while sitting on the stools we have out. It’s not a modern place with air conditioning or glass displays. We just use wooden shelves and old fans. Sometimes the dust from the street comes in, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass counters. My family has been in this lane for a long time. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s the kind of place where you have tea while waiting for a customer. The caps are popular during the festive seasons, and that’s when it gets really cramped in here. We don't have a website or anything like that. If people want to see what we have, they just walk into the alley and find us. It’s simple, and it works for us. We just focus on keeping the stock full and making sure the patterns are what people are looking for lately. There's nothing complicated about it.
