Our hair dressing shop is at Shop No. 5 in the Sai Bihar Colony, which is on Rai Bareli Road in Lucknow. We are situated within the Sgpgi Campus area, near the Pathak Complex. Because of the hospital campus, we get a lot of staff, students, and family members of patients coming in. It’s a specific kind of crowd, often in a hurry or looking for a bit of a break from the hospital environment. The shop is quite modest. We have a few hair-cutting chairs and the usual tools of the trade. It isn't a place for fancy styling; we mostly do regular cuts and shaves for men. The area is relatively quiet compared to the main city center, but there is always a steady flow of people because of the campus. We’ve decorated the walls with a few simple pictures and we try to keep the place cool during the hot Lucknow months. Sometimes people come in just to sit for a minute and wait for their turn while reading the local newspaper. We don't put on any airs or pretend to be more than a local barber shop. Our regulars know us as a reliable spot where they can get a decent haircut without paying too much. It’s a small operation, but we take pride in staying open every day to serve the people living and working around Sgpgi who need a quick trim.
