We operate out of House No E-2/667 in Vinay Khand, Gomti Nagar. It’s a regular house in a residential street, which makes it feel less like an institution and more like a part of the local neighborhood. The International Institute Of Human Rights Council sounds very formal, but if you walked in, you’d just see a few rooms filled with stacks of books, old files, and some computers that have seen better days. We spend most of our time dealing with letters, phone calls, and people who come to the door looking for some advice on their rights. Gomti Nagar is a big place, but Vinay Khand has its own little rhythm that we've grown to love. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighbors are used to seeing people coming and going from E-2/667 at odd hours. We don't have a big staff or a fancy reception desk with a person in a uniform. It’s mostly just a couple of us trying to keep track of various cases and making sure we respond to everyone who reaches out to us. Sometimes the printer jams or we run out of stationary at the worst time, but we make do with what we have. It isn't about being some high-level academic group; it’s about the practical side of helping people understand things. We keep the kettle going and try to make anyone who visits feel welcome, even if the office is a bit crowded with stacks of paperwork.
