Hina Fashion Boutique

Hina Fashion Boutique is my small shop on Mohaan Road in Rajaji Puram. I always liked clothes and sewing, so I opened this place in Lucknow a few years ago. We don't just sell readymade clothes; we also do stitching and alterations. If someone has a suit that doesn't fit right, they bring it to me. I have a couple of sewing machines in the back. The front of the shop has some displays of fabric and some dresses I finished recently. It is not a big showroom like the ones in the city center. It is a local boutique for the people living nearby. Lucknow has a lot of tradition in clothes, and I try to keep that in mind. Sometimes I get very busy during the wedding season and I have to work late into the night to finish the orders. My daughter helps me with the designs sometimes. The shop is a bit small and we have piles of cloth here and there. It is a working space, not just a store. I like talking to the ladies who come in about what style they want. We don't use any fancy computer programs for designing. I just use my measuring tape and a piece of chalk. It is an honest way to make a living and I enjoy the process of turning fabric into something wearable for my neighbors.
