Herbal Beauty Centre

Our little place is over on Kursi Road in Jankipuram. It’s right near Behata. It’s a small shop where local women come to get their eyebrows done or a quick hair wash. We’ve been here in Lucknow for a bit. The street outside can get really dusty with all the traffic. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background. It isn't a big salon with fancy lights. Just a couple of rooms and the usual stuff you find in a beauty parlour. A lot of the ladies who live in the apartments nearby stop by in the evenings. We do a lot of threading and simple facials. Sometimes someone wants their hair colored because they saw a new style. We just do what they ask. The chairs are comfortable enough for a short wait. We keep some old magazines on the table, though people mostly look at their phones now. My hands are usually busy from morning until we close at night. During the wedding season, it gets really hectic and we barely have time to eat lunch. But most days it’s just a steady flow of regulars. It’s nice to know everyone’s names.
