Imperial Chikan

We are located in Harsh Plaza over on Mira Bai Marg in the Hazratganj area. If you know Lucknow you know how busy this part of town gets. We specialize in Chikan work which is what everyone around here looks for. It’s not a huge showroom with air conditioning and fancy lights. It’s more of a practical space where we keep our stock and talk to customers. The work is mostly about the embroidery and the fabric. We spend a lot of time looking at threads and making sure the patterns are okay. It’s a lot of manual work and sometimes things take longer than we expect. That’s just the nature of handmade stuff I guess. We aren’t a big corporation. We are just a few people who know about Chikan and want to keep the tradition going in our own small way. The plaza itself is usually buzzing with people going to different offices and shops. Sometimes it’s hard to find parking nearby but that’s just Hazratganj for you. We don’t do big sales or flashy promotions. We just show what we have and if people like it they buy it. Some days we are busy packing orders to send out and other days we are just sitting and waiting for the next person to walk through the door. It’s a simple life and we like being part of this local community.
