Our small shop, Groom And Glow Beauty Saloon, is tucked away at C-2015 on Mere Na Bakery Road in Rajaji Puram. If you know where the Aryan Restaurant is, we are very close to that. Rajaji Puram is a nice residential area in Lucknow, so we get a lot of families coming in. The street is usually lined with scooters and cars. We started this place because we wanted to work for ourselves. It’s not a huge space, but we have enough room for a few people to sit and wait. The walls have a few pictures of different hair styles, but they are getting a bit faded from the sun hitting them. We spend a lot of time cleaning the combs and brushes. The sink in the back sometimes leaks a little bit, so we keep a bucket under it just in case. It’s just a normal day-to-day business. We don't use big words or try to act like we are better than any other shop on the block. We just try to be honest with the people who walk in. The address is 226017, and we’ve lived in this area most of our lives. We know the milkman and the newspaper guy. It feels like a small community here. Sometimes we stay open a bit late if a regular customer calls and says they are stuck in traffic.
