Grin Salon

Grin Salon is tucked away in Shop No 202 at Ganpati Plaza. This is in Vikalp Khand, Gomti Nagar. If you know where the Btw Chart Shop is in Lucknow, you are basically there. I spend a lot of time looking out at the plaza. It’s a busy spot in 226010. People come in after eating snacks nearby. The shop is on the second floor, so you have to come up. It isn't a huge space, but we have enough room for a few people to wait. I keep the magazines on the table, though people mostly look at their phones now. The lighting is okay, nothing too bright. I started working here because I like being in Gomti Nagar. I've been in this part of Lucknow for a few years now and it feels like home. The air conditioning works most of the time which is good for the heat. Sometimes the mall gets loud, but inside the shop, it is mostly the sound of clippers. I don’t do anything fancy, just standard hair stuff. We have some regulars who come every month. I know their names and how they like their hair. It is just a job, but I try to do it right every time. It’s practical work. You sit in the chair, I cut the hair, and you go back to your day. That is the whole idea of Grin Salon.
