Our office is on the third floor of the D-317 building in Vibhuti Khand. Being up here in Gomti Nagar, we can see a lot of the other buildings from the window. It’s a busy area, so there’s always something happening outside. Inside the office, it’s mostly the sound of phones ringing and the radio we use to talk to the drivers. We have a few chairs for when the drivers come in to drop off their daily logs. The carpet is a bit worn out in the middle where people walk the most. It’s a simple setup—just some computers, a couple of landlines, and a lot of notebooks for tracking trips. We don't have any fancy signs or neon lights inside. Most of our work is done over the phone anyway. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we have to walk the three flights of stairs, which is quite a workout. We keep a big map of the city on the wall with some pins in it, though most of us know the shortcuts by heart now. It gets a bit quiet in the late evening, which is when we finally catch up on the cleaning. We aren't trying to be a huge corporation. We just run our cars and try to make sure everyone gets where they need to go. We stay here until the night shift takes over and the building gets dark and the streets finally start to empty.
