Geet Beauty Parlour

Geet Beauty Parlour is situated in Sector C of Aliganj in Lucknow. It is a small space but it works for what we need. The street outside gets quite busy in the evenings with people coming home from work. Inside we have three main stations set up with mirrors that have been there since we first opened. The floor is made of white tiles that show every bit of hair so I am constantly using the broom throughout the day. I keep a small radio on a shelf that plays local stations quietly in the background. The air conditioner is a bit loud when it kicks in but it keeps the humidity down during the monsoon months. We have a regular routine of washing the towels and hanging them on a small rack out back. Most of our customers are women from the local Aliganj neighborhood who have been coming to us for years. They usually come in to talk about their families while they wait. The jars of cream and bottles of lotion are lined up on glass shelves that I have to dust every single morning. It isn't a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. We just have the basic stuff like thread and scissors and hair pins. The tea stall guy from down the road brings us tea in small glasses twice a day which is a nice break from the work.
