Gaurav Saree

We run Gaurav Saree out of Manchanda Bhawan, which is located in the Shastri Nagar area of Lucknow. It’s an old building that most people in this part of town recognize. We’ve been here for a long time, and the shop is full of all kinds of sarees stacked up on the wooden shelves. It’s a bit of a traditional setup where customers sit down and we pull out different pieces for them to look at. Lucknow is a city that appreciates good fabric, and we try to keep a variety that suits the local taste. The shop isn't modern or minimalist; it’s a bit crowded and colorful, just the way we like it. Shastri Nagar is a busy neighborhood, so we get a lot of local foot traffic. We spend our days folding and refolding the sarees after customers leave. It’s a lot of work to keep everything neat, and we don’t always manage it perfectly. My family has been involved in this for years, so it’s just what we know how to do. We don’t have a website or a big social media presence. People just know to come to Manchanda Bhawan when they need something for a function. Sometimes we just sit and have tea with the regulars who drop by to chat. It’s a slow and steady kind of business, and we are happy staying right here in Shastri Nagar. We just keep the doors open.
