Edathanattu Granites Private Limited is based out of South City on Raebareli Road. If you know the J-204 block in Lucknow, then you know where our office is. Dealing with stone is heavy and tiring work. We spend a lot of time talking to contractors and people fixing up their old houses. It is dusty work. The office is not anything fancy. It is just a place to keep the records straight and take some calls. My brother helps out with the logistics when things get busy. Lucknow is growing really fast these days. There is always someone building something new nearby. We have seen the neighborhood change a lot over the last few years. We mostly handle the granite slabs and try to make sure they get to the construction sites without any cracks. It happens sometimes though. That always makes for a bad day. The traffic on Raebareli Road can be a real nightmare in the evenings. We try to get the delivery trucks out early to avoid the mess. It is a straightforward business. No one here wears a suit or a tie. We wear sturdy boots and clothes that we do not mind getting dirty. There is always a bit of grit on the floor no matter how much we sweep. We have a small team of local guys. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for deliveries. It is not the most exciting life, but it is ours. We focus on stone.
