We spend most of our time looking at data and trying to help farmers understand the technical side of things better. Research sounds like it might be a big, clean lab, but mostly it's just us sitting at computers or talking to people over the phone about their soil and crops. Lucknow is a good place for this because we're central to everything in the state. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood change a bit. The office has plenty of books and papers piled up because there is always something new to read about agricultural tech. It isn't a huge operation. Just a few of us who care about how farming is changing with all the new gadgets and methods out there. We don't really have a big sales team or anything. People usually find us when they have a specific problem with their land or if they want to try a new research-based approach to growing things. Sometimes we go out into the fields to see things for ourselves, but a lot of the work happens right here in the office. It’s a lot of thinking and planning. We just try to provide practical advice that actually works for the people who come to see us during the week.
