Chikan Products

Our place is on Khun Khun Ji Road. The business is called Chikan Products and that’s basically what we handle all day long. This area has a lot of history and you can feel it when you walk down the street. We aren’t some big factory. It’s more of a local operation where things move at their own pace. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and we have to keep the fans running full speed. We spend hours looking at the fine details of the work. Our hands are usually busy. People stop by and ask questions about what we are making. We don’t have a fancy showroom with glass windows and air conditioning. It’s just a practical workspace where we get things done. Most of the people working here have been doing this for years. We know the local guys who deliver our supplies. There’s a certain rhythm to life on Khun Khun Ji Road that you don’t find elsewhere. We try to keep the floors clean but there’s always a bit of thread or fabric lying around. It shows we are working I suppose. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It's just traditional work that takes time and a bit of patience. Every piece has its own story and we just make sure they are ready for whoever needs them. It is a quiet existence but it suits us just fine being here on this road.
