Chanakya Institute

Chanakya Institute is located on Kotwali Road in the Chinhat area of Lucknow. The address is 226028. We are really close to the Kotwali itself and also near the Vishnu Priya Hostel. Because of the hostel being so close, we get a lot of students who are living away from home for the first time. The road can be quite noisy with the police station right there and all the people moving through Chinhat. Our building is a simple two-story setup. We use the upper rooms mostly. They have windows that look out onto the street, so you can see the tea vendors and the rickshaws going by all day. It’s a very lively place to be. Inside, we keep things very basic. We’ve got some old wooden desks and a couple of whiteboards that we have to scrub hard to get clean. There is no fancy lighting, just the regular tubes on the ceiling. We don’t have much in the way of a lobby, people just walk straight into the rooms. Most of our day is spent talking through problems and looking at textbooks. The students from the hostel usually come over in groups. It’s a convenient spot for them since they only have to walk a few minutes. We have been here for a while and the locals know us. It’s just a plain, hardworking environment where the focus is on the books and nothing else.
