Be Debonair Foundation

Living and working at Be Debonair Foundation means being right in the middle of Transport Nagar in Lucknow. Our office is actually in the Sulabh Awas Aashray-3 housing colony, unit C-3/23. It’s a residential area, so it feels a lot like home because it actually is a home. Transport Nagar is famous for all the trucks and the logistics companies, so there is always a lot of movement around us. Even though our name sounds a bit fancy, we are just regular people trying to be helpful. We don't have a huge budget for anything. Most of our work is done in the living room or at the kitchen table. It’s a 226003 area code, and we’ve been here since the foundation started. We didn't want a shiny office building in the center of Lucknow. It felt better to stay in a housing colony where we can talk to our neighbors and see what’s actually going on in their lives. The walls are a bit thin and you can hear the kids playing outside, but that’s part of the charm. We spend our days answering calls and trying to organize small community events. Sometimes it feels like we aren't doing much, but then someone thanks us for the help and it feels worth it. We don't have a big board of directors or anything like that. It’s just us.
