Banjaran Sarees

Our shop, Banjaran Sarees, is tucked away in GS-3 at the Hanuman Ji Mandir Market. Ameena Bagh is a crowded area, so finding us can be a bit of a trick the first time you visit. We are right there by the temple. You can usually hear the bells while we work during the day. We have a lot of sarees piled up inside. It is not a big showroom with air conditioning and mirrors everywhere. It is more of a place where you sit down on a small stool and look through the fabrics. We spend our days folding and unfolding cloth for people. Some days are slow and we just drink tea and talk to the other shopkeepers in the market. Other days, it is a mess of people trying to find the right color for a wedding. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here in Ameena Bagh. The market gets very dusty, especially in the afternoons when the wind picks up. We try to keep the sarees clean, but it is a constant battle. If you come by, do not expect a red carpet. It is just us and a lot of fabric. My family has been doing this for a bit. It is honest work. The Hanuman Ji Mandir is a good landmark if you get lost. Just ask anyone in the market for the saree shop.
