B. K. Shukla & Sons

Our place is B. K. Shukla & Sons. You can find us on National Highway No- 25. We are right in Sarojini Nagar, specifically near Banthra Mandi. Being on the Kanpur Road means there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and cars. It never really stays quiet here. We are very close to the police station, which makes it easy for people to find us if they get lost. The mandi is always buzzing with activity early in the morning. We get a lot of dust because of the highway, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the floors. B. K. Shukla & Sons has been part of this area for quite some time. It is a family thing, just like the name says. We don't have any big flashy lights or anything. It’s just a practical workspace where we get things done. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour, but we just wait it out or use the torch. The customers usually know us by name. We see the same faces every week coming from the highway. It is a busy spot, especially on market days. If you are driving down towards Kanpur, you will probably see our building. It’s just a regular place, nothing special to look at, but we are here every day. We usually keep some water for visitors because it gets so hot. The roof is made of tin, so you can really hear the rain when it pours. There's a small patch of grass out back where we grow some marigolds.
