If you are walking down Ram Krishna Math Road in Nirala Nagar, you’ll see the ICICI bank. We are right above it. Awesome Womens Makeup Studio & Salon has been in this part of Lucknow for a bit. It’s a climb up the stairs, but it’s usually worth it for the ladies who want some quiet away from the street noise. Opposite us is Om Lawn, so we see a lot of weddings happening across the road. Usually, during the wedding season, we are quite busy with people coming in to get their hair done or some makeup before they head over to the party. The studio isn’t huge, but we have enough mirrors and light. Sometimes the tea man from downstairs brings us chai while we are working on a client’s threading. We try to keep the place clean, though the floor gets covered in hair pretty fast on Saturdays. It’s a friendly place. My staff and I often chat about our families or what we’re cooking for dinner while we work. We use simple tools and keep things organized. Nirala Nagar is a nice area, quite green compared to the rest of the city. We see the same faces every month. People come in to relax for a bit, maybe gossip a little, and then go back to their busy lives. It’s just a normal salon doing normal work for the neighborhood women.
