Ashtvinayak Bullions & Jewellers Private Limited is found at 309/24 Ghariyali Gali Chowk in Lucknow. The lane is so narrow that two people can barely walk side by side without brushing shoulders. Our shop is a tight squeeze but it is where we do everything. Dealing with bullions and jewelry in such an old part of the city means we see all kinds of people every day. The walls inside the shop are a bit faded and the floor tiles are worn down from people walking in and out over the years. We do not have a big team of corporate staff. It is just a few of us who know each other well and work together to keep things running. In the afternoons, it can get very hot so we usually keep the door open to catch whatever breeze comes down the alley. We use old-fashioned ledgers to keep track of our stocks because we trust paper more than computers sometimes. There is always a lot of chatter from the street outside, with vendors shouting and bells ringing from the nearby temples. We do not try to be a fancy showroom like the ones in the new parts of Lucknow. We are just a local business in the Chowk trying to do honest work. People come to 309/24 because they know us and they know where we sit. It is a busy life but it is what we know best.
