Apsara Chikan

Down in Aminabad, things are always moving fast, and Apsara Chikan is right in the middle of it at 198 Mohan Market. We are tucked away in the 1st Lane, which can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't used to the layout of the market. It’s a small space, but we’ve got it packed with all sorts of chikan work. Most days involve a lot of unpacking and showing people different patterns. Aminabad is a loud place, full of voices and smells from the street food nearby, and our shop feels like a part of that whole mess. We’ve been at this address for a good while, and the walls probably need a new coat of paint, but we spend most of our time dealing with the thread and fabric anyway. People come in looking for specific embroidery, and we just dig through the piles until we find what they want. It’s not a polished showroom; it’s more of a workspace where stuff gets sold. The lights sometimes flicker when the power is acting up, but we just keep going. Usually, there’s a tea stall guy coming around twice a day, and that’s when we take a small break. It’s just a regular shop in a busy market lane, nothing more to it. We just show up, open the shutters, and see who comes by to browse the shelves.
