Anil Mehandi & Parlour

Anil Mehandi & Parlour is tucked away in Swaroop Market on Hewett Road. If you know the Model House area, you probably know how crowded it gets around here. We are quite close to Farooqui Clinic, so people usually find us using that as a landmark. It is a small space because market shops are always a bit tight. We focus mostly on mehandi, especially when the wedding season starts or during festivals like Karwa Chauth. The whole market gets very noisy with all the rickshaws and people shopping for clothes. Inside our shop, it is a bit more focused. We have got a few chairs for regular parlour work like threading too. We do not have a big fancy office or anything. It is just a counter and some seats. The walls have photos of mehandi designs we have done over the years. Some are old and fading now. We use the same herbal henna that we have used for years. It is a family-run kind of vibe here. We do not do big advertisements. Most people come because their neighbors told them about us. It is a bit dusty because of the main road, but we keep the inside as clean as possible. It gets humid in the rainy season because the shop is small. We just keep the door open and keep working. We open up early and stay until the market lights start going off. That is the daily routine here.
