Amrut (Advanced Mission For Rural Urban Transformation) Foundation

Our foundation goes by the name Amrut, which stands for Advanced Mission For Rural Urban Transformation. It’s a bit of a long name, but it explains what we are interested in. We are based at House Number 8A in the Jay Prakash Nagar Welfare Society. That is in the Takrohi area of Indira Nagar in Lucknow, 226016. Our office is right in the middle of a residential society, so there are always people around. We aren't in a big commercial building downtown. We prefer being here where we can see what's happening in a real neighborhood. The office is simple with just a couple of desks and some chairs for visitors. We spend a lot of time looking at how the city of Lucknow is growing and how it affects the rural areas nearby. It’s a lot of work and we are just a small team. We don't have any fancy marketing materials or a polished way of speaking. We just talk to people plainly about what we see. Some days are very busy with people coming in to ask for advice or help, and other days we are out in the field. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes, but it feels more real that way. We aren't trying to be a huge organization. We just want to do our part here in Takrohi and beyond. It’s just us trying to make sense of things without any fuss.
