Allay Classes

Being on the 4th floor of the New Janpad Complex means we get a decent view of Ashok Marg from the hallway. Allay Classes is right in Hazratganj, so there is always something going on outside our windows. The Income Tax Office is just across the way, which is how most people find our building. It is a very busy part of Lucknow. The elevator in this complex can be a bit slow or cranky sometimes, so we often end up taking the stairs. It is a bit of a climb, but we are used to it by now. Our space is pretty basic. We have some thin partitions to divide the rooms and a bunch of plastic chairs for people to sit on. It is not the quietest place because of the city sounds and traffic drifting up, but you learn to ignore it. We spend our mornings getting things ready and the afternoons are usually when it gets busy with visitors. There is not any high-tech equipment here, just the basics like a computer and a printer that sometimes acts up when we need it most. We handle everything ourselves, from cleaning the desks to answering the door. It is a small team and we like it that way. No corporate rules or anything like that, just us doing our jobs in the middle of the city. We have been in this complex for a while and know the other shop owners.
