Al Shabab Saloon

This shop is located in Naya Gao, right on Motilal Boss Road in Hussainganj. If you know where the homeopathic clinic is, we are just near that. It’s a busy part of Lucknow. The saloon isn't very large, but we make it work. Most days, we’re open early to catch the guys who want a shave before heading to their jobs. We have the usual barber chairs and some old magazines lying around for when there is a wait. The fan hums in the corner and we usually have the radio or a small TV on in the background. It gets quite hot in the summers, but we keep the doors open to let the breeze in from the street. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, so we know most of the people walking past. It’s a simple setup. We don't do anything too complicated, just haircuts and shaves for the local men. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to chat for a minute even if they don't need a haircut. That’s the kind of place this is. Motilal Boss Road is always moving, and we are just one of the little shops tucked in there. We keep our scissors sharp and the floor swept as much as we can between customers. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done for the people living around Hussainganj. You can usually find one of us standing out front during the quiet hours.
