Aarohi Empowerment Association

Our group is based out of an apartment in Gomti Nagar. We are in Flat No - D, 1202, at Rohtas Plumeria in Vibhuti Khand. It’s a residential building, so it’s pretty quiet most of the time. Aarohi Empowerment Association started because a few of us here in Lucknow wanted to do something besides our regular jobs. We use the living room as our main workspace. It’s got a few tables and some boxes of files. Living in Vibhuti Khand is nice because it’s a central spot. We don't have a big staff or a fancy headquarters. It is just a few dedicated people. Sometimes we have meetings late in the evening after everyone is done with their own work. We try to keep things grounded and local. We aren't some big NGO with tons of funding. We just pool our resources and see what we can do from this flat. People in the building know us as the ones always carrying around folders. We like being in a home setting because it feels more personal. We don't want to sound like a corporation. That’s not who we are. We just want to help people out from our base here in Lucknow. It can be a bit cramped in the flat when we all get together, but it works for us. We just take things one day at a time without any fancy marketing or slogans.
