Aarjoo Mens Parlour

Shop No.6 at Tedi Puliya is where we stay most of the day. It’s right near the Zama Masjid so people know where we are. We opened up this spot on the Ring Road in Lucknow quite some time back. It is just a small place with a few chairs and mirrors but we keep it clean. Men from the neighborhood come here for their regular hair cuts or maybe a shave before work starts. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that. Just the basic stuff you need to get the job done properly. Sometimes the fans make a little noise when it's really hot outside but nobody seems to mind much. We talk about the news or what's happening on the road while we work. The area gets a bit crowded around prayer times because of the mosque but that is how it has always been here. We know most of the faces that walk through the door by now. If you are passing through Tedhi Pulia you can see our sign easily. It isn't a big shop but we manage everything okay. We stay open until late evening most days unless there is some work at home. There is no point in making things complicated when people just want a simple cut and a bit of conversation. That is how we have been running Aarjoo Mens Parlour for years and it works for us and the locals too.
