A. M. Salon is located inside the Sahara Shopping Centre in the Sanjay Gandhipuram area of Indira Nagar, Lucknow. Being in a shopping center means there is always a lot of foot traffic and people looking at the window displays. Our shop is one of many in the building, but we have our own loyal group of customers who come to see us regularly. The mall atmosphere is a bit different from a street-side shop, as it stays a little cleaner and the temperature is more consistent. We have a few chairs and a small area where people can wait their turn. It is not a massive salon with hundreds of staff, just a few of us who have been working together for a long time. We spend the day handling the usual walk-ins and keeping our station tidy. The mirrors are always polished and we have a few magazines lying around for people to read. Lucknow people like to talk, so there is usually a conversation going on about cricket or the local politics. We do not have any high-end equipment or celebrity stylists, just regular people who know how to use a pair of scissors. It is a practical place for anyone in Indira Nagar who needs a quick trim while they are out doing their shopping. We like being part of the Sahara Shopping Centre because it feels like the heart of the neighborhood. It is a good place to be every day.
