Kwyi Valley Navkrishak Farmers Producer Company Limited is located over in Radhpu, which is part of Pistana. We are based at Tar Nitin's place. If you know the Deed area or have been to Ziro in Lower Subansiri, you know it is a beautiful but tough place to farm. The mornings are usually very cold and the mist stays in the valley for a long time. We are a bunch of farmers who wanted to do things a bit more formally. "Navkrishak" means new farmers, but most of us have been doing this since we were kids. We chose the name because we wanted a fresh start for the valley. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just a regular house where we keep our papers and meet up. Ziro is famous for its hills, but for us, it is just home and where our work is. We spend a lot of time talking about the soil and the water. The roads out here can be rough, so we have to plan things out well in advance. We aren't trying to sell anyone a dream. We just want to make sure the work in the valley gets done right. Sometimes the meetings go long and we end up just drinking tea and talking about the weather and the next planting season. It is simple work but it is important to us.
