Starling Ladakh

You can find us at Taka House on Old Road. It is just a short walk from the Grand Dragon Hotel. We are local people running this place. Most days we are just around the office dealing with whatever comes up. We spend a lot of time talking to drivers and making sure the vehicles are okay for the high passes. It is dusty work sometimes. The Old Road area is always busy, especially when the trekking season starts. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the area well. We grew up around these mountains so we know which roads are good and which ones are tricky. Sometimes we have to change plans because of the weather or the road conditions. That is normal here in Ladakh. We don't use big words or try to act like we are some huge company. We just have our office here in Taka House and we do our best to help people see the sights. Usually, there is a lot of noise from the street outside but inside it is okay. We have some old chairs and a table where we look at maps. If you are staying nearby, you might see us walking to the market in the evening. We like to keep things straightforward. No need for complicated stuff when you are just trying to visit a monastery or go to the lake.
