Shangri La Experience

If you are looking for Shangri La Experience, we are tucked away in Leh Ho, right across from the SBI bank. That bank is always crowded, so it makes it easy to find us. Our spot is pretty basic, just a few chairs and a table where we sit and figure out how to get people from one side of Ladakh to the other. We don't have any big signs or fancy decorations. Most of the time, the windows are a bit dusty from the wind blowing through the valley. It’s just how things are here in the high desert. We spend a lot of time on the phone trying to check if the passes are open. Sometimes the Khardung La is closed and we have to tell everyone to wait another day. It can be frustrating, but you can't argue with the mountains. We grew up seeing these peaks every day, so we have a lot of respect for them. We aren't trying to be the biggest agency in town. We just want to make sure the people who come to see us actually get to see the sights without too much trouble. It is honest work, and it keeps us busy through the short summer. When winter comes and the tourists leave, we mostly just sit around the stove and wait for the snow to melt. That is our life here in Leh.
