Zep Masala Association

Zep Masala Association is out in the Latur district. To be exact, we are in Kumbharwadi, which is part of the Renapur taluka. The place is at A.P. Kumbhari and we share the space with Kondiram Nagorao Fad. It is a rural area, so things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We deal with spices here. You can usually smell the chilies and turmeric before you even walk through the door. It gets into your clothes after a long day of work. The building is modest and sits among other small structures in the village. We have some grinding machines that make a lot of noise when they are running. My hands are often stained a little yellow from the spices we handle. It is not a shiny office. We have a few tables and some scales for weighing the packets. The weather in Latur can be very dry, so we have to make sure the spices are stored properly so they don't lose their kick. We are just a group of people working together to get the masala ready for the market. It is hard work and the dust can make you sneeze if you aren't careful. We don't have any fancy advertisements. Most of the people around here just know us by word of mouth. It is just a local operation in a small corner of Maharashtra, and we just keep doing our thing.
